About the Artist…
Katie Briggs is a sixth-generation Colorado native. Growing up in the west, her influences live somewhere between old saddle leather and a cold Coors Banquet, where Willie and Waylon are still on the radio, dusty pickups outnumber new ones, and the stories are as important as the scenery. Her work is timeless and the unexpected, capturing scenes that could belong to another century before slipping in subtle contemporary details that reward viewers willing to take a second look. Briggs’ hope is to have art that feels familiar enough to stir nostalgia but contemporary enough to remind us that the American West isn’t a memory, it’s alive and kickin’.
